EnviroSCAN Probe
Features of the probe include:
- Multiple sensors with adjustable depth placement (at 10cm increments).
- Monitoring from shallow depths (0–10cm) to deep installations (up to 40 metres).
- Flexible probe lengths, customized to suit the application (probe length adjustable in the field).
- In-built probe orientation and depth settings to enhance sensor repeatability.
- Full serviceability.
- Flexible connectivity for wide range of data retrieval options.
- Soil specific calibrations can be applied to individual sensors.
Drill & Drop probe
Easy Installation, Accurate Soil Moisture, Salinity, And Temperature Measurement. The Drill & Drop probe is fully encapsulated and can be completely buried, reducing the risk of machinery damage.
Measures soil moisture and temperature, with salinity optional useful for Vegetable crops, Fruit & Nut tree crops, Vines, Berries, research, and landscapes. The Drill & Drop probe is available in lengths from 30cm (12″) through to 120cm (48″) with sensors every 10cm or four inches.
It is also offered as a Single Point Sensor measuring 10.5cm or 4″ for SDI-12 loggers.
Probe Features
- Undisturbed installation allows for measurement of truly representative soil profile, NOT slurry mix.
- Buriable to any depth to allow working upper soil layer.
- Durable low maintenance equipment will last for years.
- Pre-calibrated sensors provide accurate readings in majority of soil types, with software that can make adjustments as needed.
- Access near real-time soil profile data through online software IrriMAX Live – from any device.
- Available with moisture, temperature and optional salinity sensors at every 10cm (4”) depth.
Benefits
- Ideal for seasonal use, such as monitoring vegetable crops, due to the fast and easy install and extraction techniques.
- Reliable option for long-term use, as it can be installed and left untouched for many years.
- Fast and undisturbed, slurry-free installation improves the validity of readings.
- Combine soil moisture, salinity and temperature readings for a complete picture of what’s happening in the soil profile..

Sentek SoluSAMPLER
Incorporating SARDI Soil Water Extraction Technologies
The Sentek SoluSAMPLER is a soil solution sampler that draws moisture from the surrounding soil and stores it in an inert ceramic cup, awaiting collection and analysis. It is the ideal complement to the TriSCAN sensor, enabling precise site-specific analysis of soil pore water salinity content.
Sentek SoluSAMPLER is available in two types, the difference is in the pore size of the ceramic cup:
- Low Flow – suitable for most applications
- High Flow – suitable for light texture and moist soils (for rapid sampling)
Sample Analysis
- Portable Electrical Conductivity (EC) meter
- Nitrate strips
- Laboratory analysis
Benefits of Salinity and Nitrate Monitoring
- Saline water can reduce crop quality and yield
- Irrigation efficiency may lead to an increased risk of harmful salt accumulation in the root zone
- Measurement can detect salt before visual symptoms are seen
- Using reclaimed, treated, or groundwater can potentially increase salt content
- Nitrate levels are important for crop yields
- Nitrate leaching into groundwater can have serious health consequences

Display Data From Individual Sensor Depths Or Summed Over All Depths.
When displayed in Sentek’s IrriMAX software, soil water data from sensors at multiple depths can show:
- The effectiveness and depth of infiltration of rainfall and irrigation.
- Depth of the active root zone at different times of the growing season.
- Deep drainage.
- Amount of water uptake and evapotranspiration from different parts of the root zone.
- Fluctuating water tables.
IrriMAX software is available as a desktop version, for loading on to a PC – or accessed via the Live version online, by subscription.
